Registration

The Records, Registration and Evaluations office is located in University Hall, room 171. Veterans and active military students are welcome to check with the campus veteran coordinator, who can guide veterans and active military through necessary registration steps.

To register, students need to have already obtained admission to the university, a nine-digit Coyote ID number and an activation code.

Advising & Testing
All new undergraduate students are required to attend a mandatory academic information session before registering for their first quarter at CSUSB. EOP students must contact the EOP office for advising at (909) 537-5042. Students will receive an overview of the university’s basic skills requirements, registration, advising procedures and support services. After attending the session, the advising hold will be cleared. Students who have not completed their general education English and/or math requirements may have a registration hold and must enroll in a basic skills course (Eng 101; Math 110, 115, 120, 192 or 211) each quarter until completed. Students who do not qualify for enrollment in these basic skills course(s) must enroll in appropriate developmental courses (Eng 85 or 95; Math 75, 80 or 90) depending on their EPT/ELM scores. Testing for the English Placement Test (EPT) or the Entry Level Math (ELM) exams are mandatory and must be completed BEFORE registering. However, students may be exempt from one or both of these tests if they have scored well on other specified tests such as SAT/ACT or AP/IB exams. For more information on the EPT/ELM exams, call the CSUSB Office of Academic Services at (909) 537-5034 or the Testing Office at (909) 537-5041.

Coyote ID & Activation
New CSUSB students will be assigned a Coyote Identification number (CID) by the Admissions Office. This will be listed on the acceptance letter along with an activation code that is a temporary password to activating and accessing your MyCoyote account on-line. The CID and activation code provide security to your records, and therefore, students should immediately select their own password and set up the authentication questions before accessing their account. Contact the help desk at (909) 537-7677 if having technical difficulties.

Registration & Fees
Once accepted to the university, registration begins by activating the MyCoyote account online.Have the Coyote I.D. number and activation code (from acceptance letter) ready. Once online, students can view their Student Center page for information such as quarterly registration dates, quarterly class schedule confirmation, financial aid information, check for registration holds and much more.
Registration fees will be due by the scheduled due date as printed in the quarterly class schedule or classes will be dropped for non-payment and a $25 administrative fee will be assessed. Refer to the “fees” pages in the class schedule for more information on important deadlines and refund information.
